So, have you ever thought of all the things that can be cooked with beer? Yes, yes, beer might be best as it is, but if you try this dark Guinness beer cake, you seriously may want to reconsider.

It may seem like it’s impossible to incorporate beer into a dessert, and I hear you on this, I really doubted it would work until I tried it. I have to officially state, that the beer in this beer cake makes it taste absolutely divine.

You can actually taste it, the flavor is very distinct, and yet, it goes so nicely with the chocolate. The beer is carbonated enough to make the cake extra soft and fluffy. When combined with black coffee (do not use the instant kind!) and chocolate the beer really gives a unique flavor.

I usually use a regular chocolate frosting for this recipe, you can use ganache as well. One of the things that is absolutely divine for this particular cake is frost it with condensed milk. Go ahead and experiment with the frosting. Once you bake this cake for the first time, I’m pretty sure it’s not going to be the last.

I hope you have as much fun with this cake as I do. Don’t drink all the beer!
