Oatmeal is good for you, everyone knows that. But for those of us who don’t really like oatmeal in its usual form, as a sticky porridge, there’s a much more delicious variety, the oatmeal cake.

Oatmeal cake retains all the goodness of oatmeal, but for me personally, wins in the taste department but a very long shot.

This old-fashioned, rustic recipe reminds me of log cabins and pine forests and quiet evenings at home with a good book and a favorite comforter.

You don’t usually do this with regular oatmeal, but in case of the cake, you can add all your favorite spices, such as nutmeg and cinnamon and vanilla and make it taste beautiful. Oatmeal is chock full of good nutrients, so this cake turns out doubly good.

A great breakfast option for those of use who need their good grains, but don’t really like the oats, especially for kids. The kids I know adore this cake, so I usually bring it as a slightly healthier cake variety for various school events. Give it a try and see for yourself how delicious this cake is!
