I only ever eat canned tuna in salads which I need to whip up fast. So, you can imagine, I was really surprised when I discovered this dish of tuna pasta. 

This tuna pasta is really quick and easy to cook and you can mostly use canned foods, which is really convenient on a busy weeknight when you don’t have time or energy to go grocery shopping and need to rely on what’s in your pantry and fridge.

For being such a simple dish, this pasta is surprisingly wholesome, offering a good portion of proteins from the tune, a healthy veggie serving and fiber from the pasta. And it still manages to be pretty low in the calorie count.

I like using fresh tomatoes and basil leaves in this recipe, but truth be tolled, canned diced tomatoes and dry basil works good as well.  Other than that, just follow carefully the instructions on the back of your pasta box to boil the pasta properly and follow the easy steps below.
