Do you want one more cake recipe? Here you are – the greatest fresh apple dump cake!
I love dump cakes for their simplicity and because they taste just so delicious, despite being so easy to make, even a kid can handle most of the work.

This apple dump cake is probably a most universal dessert I can think of. I make tons of it, especially when apples are in season in early fall, and I feel like I want everything apple-flavored.

It’s rich, it’s buttery, it’s crispy, it smells divine. I prefer using sour green apple varieties, such as Granny Smith. When I was a kid, we use to pick apples growing wild in our backyard, and they were so sour and tart, I think they made the best apple dump cakes.

The combination and contrast of tart sourness of the apple and the crispy sweetness of the crust is especially great. But of course, you can use any kind of apples that you like. In fact, any apples you have at hand will be just fine. Adding cinnamon to the apple mix is also optional, but I love it, especially in the fall, cinnamon is such a perfect autumn spice.

You don’t need instructions to bake this pie.

Use chopped peaches from cans instead of apple for filling. Peach is very sweet. Add brown sugar, couple teaspoons of cinnamon, cup of pecans, sprinkle top with sugar powder a bit. Do not forget to put baking paper on pan bottom.

This cake tastes delectable on its own, but if you like, you may want to serve it with whipped cream or vanilla ice-cream. I love eating it when it’s hot and fresh out of the oven and the crust is still bubbling with melted butter. But it also tastes fine when it cools, so it’s completely up to you how to serve this cake.

It is also a fantastic kid friendly recipe, kids can do pretty much all of the prep work for this, even the cutting, since apples and butter are very easy to cut. You can cut apples in slices or in cubes, it’s a matter of choice and how you like your texture. I find that when apples are cut in bigger chunks, they provide for a more solid texture and if you’re using sour varieties, they retain a greater degree of tartness.

Perfect dish for lunch with ice tea. You`ll hear satisfied crunch in house.

Alright, now on to the cooking!
